PAR - Cash Drawer Not Opening
Problem
Cash drawer for PAR terminal not opening when prompted
Solution
Simply try rebooting if you have not already. After reboot and still not opening proceed below.
1.) First check if anything is plug into the back of the register (picture below). The cash drawer cable will look like a white grayish network cable. Unplug and plug back in then test. If nothing plug in press on the two tabs left and right and lift to remove top back cover
2.) This will reveal all ports and cables check in the middle (Blue Circle) if anything plug in. If there is anything plug in, try unplugging and plug into the port that’s behind the monitor (first picture above into network port).
3.) If nothing plug into the ports chances are cash drawer cable not plug into anything or missing cable. Flip the cash drawer upside down or lift up and you will see the cash drawer cable (picture below). Unplug and plug back in the cable at the bottom and trace the cable if other end plugs into anything. If not plug into anything plug into the back of the register first picture above. Test
As a last resort try swapping cash drawer cable with a spare cable or another terminal cash drawer cable, swap the cash drawer with another cash drawer, or take register to another cash drawer, or vice versa bring a register to non working cash drawer. This will tell us exactly if cash drawer cable, cash drawer, or register is the issue and what needs to be replace.
