QSR controller offline/Station Offline
Problem: One or all QSR devices are saying "Station Offline", on what appears to be just a desktop screen, or stuck on screen showing QSR info.
Solution:
If all are saying "Station Offline", on what appears to be just a desktop screen, or stuck on screen showing QSR info first check if the Call/Phone In Terminal 3 (usually mounted on wall ) is powered on and Online.
1.) Depending on the model unplug the Ethernet/Network cable from the controller (QSR controller will look like one of the models below) and from the network wall port but if other end goes up into ceiling just unplug from the controller. Plug back in Ethernet cable verify has connectivity lights (green and amber light like Xceed below)
2.) If no lights or has lights but still offline Ethernet cable maybe poor not providing a strong enough connection. Try replacing Ethernet cable with a spare or swap with another device Ethernet cable just to test.
3.) Plug into another network wall port close by if there is one close by. If cable goes up into ceiling proceed to next step.
4.) Unplug all the cables and take just the controller box (may need to bring the power cable also) and take to another station, example if QSR Dine controller offline take to Bin Station and use the same cables (HDMI and Ethernet) that's plug into the controller that's online and plug into controller that was brought over. If controller that was brought over still offline then controller will need to be replaced. Reach out to PAR for replacement.
5.) If we are not able to take to another station take the controller to the back office and get a spare Ethernet cable and plug the controller directly into the switch (same switch registers are plug into). PAR support can see if controller comes online or not. If controller that was brought over still offline then controller will need to be replaced. Reach out to PAR for replacement.
6.) If controller comes online either at step 3.), 4.), or 5.) then either the wall network port where controller Ethernet cable was plug into bad, cable that goes from the network wall port to the back office switch gone bad, direct cable that goes into ceiling to back office switch bad, or switch port gone bad (rare). Cable tech recommended next to come onsite and check out network wall port or Ethernet cables.
