PAR Brink - Managing and Applying Discounts
Part 1: Applying discounts
This section will go over the application of per item and per order discounts. Note that a different process should be followed when applying the SMG BOGO BZS discount for guests who completed a survey. Follow steps in the Survey Suppression feature documentation for this discount.
Per Item Discounts:
When applying per item discounts, first select the item you would like to discount on the order list. For ALC items, just select the top line of the item. For combos, you must select the entrée component of the combo on the second line and not the combo container on the first line where the price is listed. The correct part of a combo to highlight is shown below. In PAR Brink, the top line of a combo just acts as a container for its components and does not hold a price itself. The entrée component will hold the base price of the meal.
Per Item and Per Order Discounts:
Once you have selected the items to discount, select the "Discount" button below the order list. Since per order discounts are not targeted, it does not matter what is selected on the order list. From the window that pops up, select the discount you would like to apply. To scroll, you must press and hold on the center of the window then drag. There are a select few custom discounts that will also prompt you to enter an amount or percent.
Price point discounts will change the price of a single item to the price listed on the discount. All other discounts will mark down an item or the whole order by a specified amount or percent. Note that PAR organizes these discounts based on time of creation, so not all discounts of a certain type will be listed together. Once applied, the amount that is discounted will be listed at the bottom of the order list. If this amount is $0.00, review this document and verify that the discount was applied correctly, especially when applying the discount to a combo.
