OLO - Bulk 86'ing/Un-86'ing Items
When 86'ing items, you ALWAYS want to 86 the items in OLO first. OLO does not automatically 86 items when they have been marked inactive or unavailable in the POS, so 86'ing an item in the POS first or only 86'ing the item in the POS can lead to large volumes of digital ordering failures and potentially the location being disabled on 3rd party delivery apps.
First, log into the OLO dashboard and select "Menus" to view your location's menu.
Next, select "Manage Stores" and then select the store(s) where you need to 86 items. Then, hit "Next" to continue.
Many items are listed under multiple sections, and almost all items exist on both the app/web and Rails menus. Modifiers and components, such as drink sizes and flavors, will often have separate listings for each individual item they apply to. When you 86 an item in one location, it will rarely be 86'd in all locations where it is listed. The easiest way to ensure you get every version of the item is to use the "Search Menus" feature on the top right of the menu manager.
You will be greeted by the box below.
"Exact match" will yield items with names containing the exact words entered in the search bar, while "Fuzzy match" will return items with names containing similar words or only some of the words. When using "Exact match," it is best to limit the search to a single word to ensure all results are found. "Products" will search for top-level menu items like combos, shareables and extras. "Options" will search for choices like dipping and tossing sauce options. It is often best to search for an item under both "Products" and "Options" as some items like fries will exist as both ALC items and choices. Below, I am searching for medium drinks.
As you can see above, I am presented with all options in the menu containing the word "Medium." You will also notice that I can either update availability for these items one at a time or select multiple items and utilize the "Bulk Availability" tool to 86 them all at once. You can select all the items by checking "Title," but make sure all the checked items are the item you are looking to 86, especially when using "Fuzzy match." Once you have selected the items you need to 86, use the "Availability" or "Bulk Availability" button to 86 the items.
You will have the option to either indefinitely 86 the item or 86 it and schedule an un-86 date. This will allow you to set items to automatically become available after you get a truck or otherwise are able to sell them again, but make sure you also mark the item active in the POS on that date. This same process can be used to un-86 items in bulk as well if they need to indefinitely 86'd.
