Introduction
Included in this article are links and processes related to the Yealink Handheld Phones and their wired base station. The Yealink Phone is intended to be a temporary solution to fall over into a permanent solution with Forticare at any Zaxby's Corporate locations. If a Zaxby's location reaches out to Store Support with questions on this device, need you will need to do the following.
-
Determine the issue with the phone
- Because the Yealink phones utilize both a handset and base station to maintain the service, there is a series of issues that can occur with either unit or the service in general.
- The Yealink devices are also required to be programmed using the FVC Cloud Portal. That portal is managed by James Murray and Justin Maanao.
- Is this a replacement Yealink device or troubleshooting the existing installation?
Understanding the Yealink Phones
The Yealink setup consists of 3 pieces of hardware.
- The Yealink Handset
- The Yealink charging base
- The Yealink Base station
This is the Yealink Handset and its charging base.
Yealink Base Station.
The Yealink Handset and charging base should be located in the front of house of the Zaxby's store. The charging base is powered via usb cable and can plug into any generic usb charging brick and plugged in anywhere at the store.
The Yealink base station is located in the back office, connected to the network stack. It varies from store to store, however it is commonly plugged into port 9 or port 11 on switch 1 or switch 2.
Installation
The Yealink base station is powered and connected by a single ethernet cable. The base station will be connected to either switch 1 or 2 in the Network Stack and will be plugged into one of the designated "open policy" ports. Normally this is port 9 and 13, but can also be connected to port 11.

Once the unit is plugged in the power and network lights will light up and illuminate green.

From this state, you can pair the Yealink handset by pressing and holding the button with the "wifi" symbol at the top of the base for 2-3 seconds.

After holding this button, the top light, indicated with the small phone icon will begin flashing. You may then select the "REG" option on the display of the Yealink phone and the phone will automatically sync to that base. Once the pairing is complete, a third light will illuminate green and stay solid from there like this.

This should complete the pairing and installation portion of the phones.
Troubleshooting
If the store is having issues with the Yealink handsets, they will need to reach out to store support at 706-433-2300 option 6. In most cases, rebooting the Yealink base in the back office fixes all problems. Simply locate the base in the back office. It will be plugged into the Fortinet Stack and has a green lights on it. It is a small black box that says "Yealink" on it.
Unplug the ethernet cable from it, count to 5 and plug it back in.
You can then reboot the handset by pressing and holding the "end call" button. This will power off the phone completely. Power it back on and perform a test call. If this does not resolve the issue, you may need to remove the unit from the admin portal.
To log in to the admin portal, on Yealink handset, press the silver "OK" button 3x
