Scanner Frame and Link 2500i Smartback Installation Once assembly is complete, please reach out to Store Support to finalize configuration. Requirements: Please ensure all pieces are available before proceeding, and Power Off the Tablet. · An existing PAR tablet · ScannerFrame case · 2500i Series Smartback · Link 2500i series CC reader · Small Phillips head screwdriver · Small Flathead screwdriver 1. Using the Torx screwdriver included with the ScannerFrame, begin by removing the screws from the front side of the existing tablet case. The screws are located on the front side of the case around the edges. 2. Once all screws are removed, carefully separate the two pieces of the cover, and set the tablet aside. 3. Next, follow the Mounting Instructions in the ScannerFrame guide starting on Page 4 to install onto the tablet. A few guiding photos are below. 3a: Bottom and Side Hatches removed 3b: Cover Plate Removal and Grounding Spring installation 3c: USB connector on tablet case must align and be fully seated into the USB port on the right side of the tablet. The cable has some play in it, and can be lifted slightly to help align when connecting. 4. With the frame fully installed, flip the tablet over and lay on its face. Remove the back panel from the tablet by lifting up from the bottom left corner. 5. Next align the Smartback plate so as the connecting pins for the reader are oriented at the bottom, and the notch on the plate is on the lower left. Press down firmly to connect, then use the 4 included screws to attach. 6. Insert the Link 2500i CC reader into the Smartback, by inserting at the top of the bracket and sliding downward. Use the included set screw to lock into place on the left side of the reader, shown below. 7. Once complete, reach out to Zaxby’s Store Support for final configuration steps.

Purpose: Rebrand Update the look of guest and team member facing displays to reflect the updated logo and color scheme Layout Create dynamic sections of the menu for LTOs Eliminates a number of recurring points of failure in releases by allowing the menu to update and organize itself using native PAR functionality No buttons are added or removed from the menu, so buttons will never be covered up when LTOs are released We can now use the API to verify that a promo or test item was added to the menu at all locations Menus can now accommodate an infinite amount of items as users will be able to scroll through these sections if enough items are added to them This will likely never be necessary Menu no longer has to be reorganized constantly to support each test and promo release Buttons will now dynamically position themselves Provides franchisees with more control over the addition and removal of LTOs LTOs will now dynamically appear on or disappear from the POS based on the item's active status POS sunsets will now function like digital sunsets where stores can remove them from the menu as they run out of product Test items will no longer appear on the menu except in their test markets Upcoming promotional items can be activated for testing then deactivated until their release date if desired Redesign and finalize core menu after recent additions "Resets" menu panels so they will be consistent across all locations Rebrand Overview The current rebranding affects start screens, menu panels, and customer-facing displays. The menu panels will be touched on in the layout overview, but here are some examples of what the other items should look like after this change: Layout Overview The layout update affects all menu panels. This includes the Main, Extras, Catering, and Boxed Lunch panels. Examples of what each panel will look like are below, in that order. Take note of the sections with white buttons. These are the new dynamic portions of the menu that will house promo and test items moving forward. While the existing buttons for core menu items have in many cases been relocated and given a fresh coat of paint, their functionality should remain the same. The changes in button behavior will be limited to the dynamic portion of the new menu. Dynamic Menu - Main Currently, we have the upcoming promo item,

PAR will soon be adding a feature known as Backup Primary (BP) to our stack. We will not be able to receive the new version of PAR until this has been enabled. Action Required: At the store level, this change should be barely noticeable. The only important callout is that register 2 - DT Pay must be online in addition to register 3 - Call-In (sometimes called Phone-In) for end of day to properly run. If either register goes down, please request that support reassign another terminal as register 2 or 3 rather than just promoting another register to primary. Purpose: The purpose of this feature is to make the POS more resilient when offline. Previously, PAR required either the primary terminal or internet to be reachable at all times to function. If PAR lost its connection to both the internet and primary terminal at the same time, it would often be hard-down until both are restored. This meant that if a store was offline and the primary terminal rebooted or was disconnected, the store might be down for the remainder of the outage. With Backup Primary, DT Pay will be able to "step in" and act as the primary terminal for offline operation and sync with the primary terminal, Call-in, as soon as it is brought back online. This effectively means that the POS will continue operating unless the internet, Call-in, and DT Pay terminals are all down simultaneously. Callouts: It is important to make sure both the primary and backup primary terminals are online when EOD runs. This is why DT Pay was selected as it already takes priority over the other registers due to its role. If DT Pay goes down, another terminal should be reassigned as DT Pay before EOD even if the store has a DT Pay 2. The backup primary terminal is not yet able to facilitate online ordering. PAR will be adding this functionality in later versions, but for now another terminal will need to assigned as the Call-in before digital ordering will resume. Store support agents and franchisees are able to manually unlock pay periods in PAR if necessary. First, navigate to Labor > Edit Pay Periods in the PAR admin portal: Select the pay period you need to update by clicking on its start or end date: You will now be able to manually open or close the pay period. Make sure to save after making your selection.
